Venezia Due

Beautiful 4 bedroom apartment with a truly unbelievable view on St Mark's Square.

Venice Villa 6

The ULTIMATE in refinement and elegant living, with views that must surely be second to none! Directly overlooking St Mark's Basilica, St. Mark’s Square and the Camapnile bell tower, it’s with barely contained excitement that we welcome this apartment to our collection.

… A property that made us all gasp in astonishment, to describe it as ‘stunning’ would be an understatement to say the least!

Hosting 6 astute guests in trip-of-a-lifetime surroundings and (almost!) rubbing shoulders with the Clock Tower next door, the 4 bedroom apartment is as rare as it is ravishing and is bright, uplifting and exceptional throughout. Classically furnished with grace and panache and on the 4th floor served by elevator, the air conditioned apartment boasts gorgeous wooden parquet flooring while its walls are adorned with period paintings and prints.

Wi-Fi is included, and the accommodation comprises-

- An airy and spacious south-facing sitting / dining room with ample comfortable seating, a beautiful Aubusson-style rug, and an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling glazed doors opening directly onto the long furnished terrace overlooking the Basilica.

- A cosy library / relaxation area with sofa to the side where the TV, though just the thing for chilling out during downtime, inevitably ‘plays second fiddle’ to the splendid vista outside

- A streamlined, modern galley-style kitchen - well-equipped and found just to the rear of the sitting room

- A quietly elegant master bedroom to the front of the apartment with a double bed and 3 floor-to-ceiling glazed doors opening onto the terrace enjoying eye-level views towards the Basilica’s famous bronze horses and extending down to the waters of the Bacino beside the Doges's Palace.

- A beautifully presented double bedroom to the rear with double bed and a few steps leading up to an en-suite bathroom with shower

- Two very pretty chintzy single bedrooms to the middle of the apartment (and on opposite sides), one with an en-suite bathroom with shower

- A separate bathroom with bathtub to the very rear of the property, and completing the apartment…

- A laundry room with combined washing machine/dryer, ideal for longer stays. Air conditioning is present in all main rooms with the exception of the kitchen.

If you part of a larger group and would like to stay close together but in separate apartments, we offer another apartment in the calle/area just behind.

The apartment is truly 100% chic and entirely unique - one of the most remarkable rental properties in Venice today. Standing in the iconic beating heart of ‘La Serenissima’ - St. Mark’s Square - where, at night, the orchestras of the world-famous Gran Caffe Quadri and Caffe Florian conjure up a truly magical atmosphere (music is dependent on weather and season!), while the pink and white marble of the Doge’s Palace glows, and the mosaics of the Basilica shimmer in the darkness. A short stroll to the recently restored Rialto Bridge crossing the Grand Canal, and T Fondaco Dei Tedeschi - Venice’s new lifestyle department store, a tourist attraction in its's own right!

Also within easy reach of 2 well-stocked supermarkets for all your self-catering requirements - one at Salizada San Lio and the other at Rialto - and to the vaporetto (water bus) stops at San Zaccaria and Vallaresso for simple and convenient travel around town.

Recommended Local Restaurants

Venice requires a little more research into your restaurant choices than most Italian cities, due to the  mass tourism, but good food is available, in some cases very good, but usually not at bargain prices. In any case, you can't go wrong at any of our suggestions below:

Ai Artisti -Fondamenta della Toletta 1169A.  P. 041-5238944. Great family owned osteria/enoteca. Moderate prices.

Alle Testiere -Calle del Mondo Novo 5801.  P. 041-5227220.  www.osterialletestiere.it/Testiere/Welcome.html  A refined "bacaro", which has wooden tables, simple facilities and nice informal atmosphere; only fish dishes, well prepared and imaginative. Only seats about 25, so be sure to reserve. Upper moderate prices.

Le Bistrot de Venise -4685 Calle dei Fabbri  P. 041-5236651.  www.bistrotdevenise.com  Primarily Venetian food and specializing in historical recipies from the 14th to 18th century. Upper moderate to expensive.

Il Ridotto - Castello 4509, 30122 Venice  P. 041 5208280  www.ilridotto.com/02_homepage_ENG.htm  One Michelin Star. This gourmet restaurant is housed in a simple, minimalist dining room and is a far cry from the usual tourist clichés. It focuses all its attention on the quality of its cuisine and serves reinterpretations of classic Venetian dishes with an emphasis on fish. Expensive

La Caravella-Calle Larga Via XXII Marzo 2397  P.  041 520 8901  www.restaurantlacaravella.com  Very near to St. Mark's square

L'Osteria di Santa Marina- Campo Santa Marina 5911, Venice, Italy (Castello) P. 041-528-5239   www.osteriadisantamarina.com  This classy inn is managed by young professionals who serve seafood and traditional dishes, but they also offer some interesting culinary innovations. Upper moderate to Expensive.

Ristorante Quadri-Piazza San Marco 121  P. 041 528 9299  www.alajmo.it  Above Quadri Cafe in St Mark's Square. One Michelin star. Now run by the Alajmo family - renowned restaurant owners from Padua(earned three Michelin stars there) - the Quadri is one of Venice's 'gastronomic monuments'. It is housed in one of the most photographed palazzi in the city and adorned with stucco decor, Murano glass and fine fabrics. Beautifully presented, creative cuisine made from the best quality ingredients. Modern interpretations of Venetian classics. Almost perfect service. This is one of Venice's best. Get dressed up and go for the great food, atmosphere and experience, but beware if you're on a budget. The cafe downstairs, though touristy, now serves probably the best coctails in Venice. Very expensive, but if you plan in advance, you can reserve one of their tasting menus for lunch, at half price, by visiting their web page.

Anice Stellato-fondamenta della Sensa 3272, Cannaregio 3272  P. 041 720744   www.osterianicestellato.com   Delicious fried fish and vegetables, as well as other tasty seafood specialities are served in this restaurant, which is slightly off the beaten track and always full of Venetians. The wine bottles on display add to the attractive and informal ambience. Moderate prices

Antiche Carampane-San Polo, 1911.  T. 041-5240165  www.antichecarampane.com  A typical trattoria in business for over a century, with a friendly, convivial atmosphere and a menu announced at your table. This restaurant has seen an increase in quality over recent years, while still remaining faithful to the same Venetian fish dishes, including the house speciality, spaghetti in cassopipa (spaghetti in a spicy shellfish sauce). Upper Moderate.

Ristorante al Covo-Castello 3968  P. 041 5223812  www.ristorantealcovo.com   Great seafood, close to St Marks. Some outside tables. Expensive

Locanda Cipriani-Piazza Santa Fosca 29 30142 Torcello, Venezia Italy  P.  041 730150  Great little country reataurant on the Venetian island of Torcello. It makes a great lunch excursion to visit Torcello, followed by a leisurely lunch here. Upper moderate to expensive.

Venissa-Fondamenta Santa Caterina 3, 30142 Isola di Mazzorbo  P. 041 52 72 281  http://venissa.it/en/ristorante/#prenotazioni.  This, plainly, is a very special place, located on the island of Mazzorbo. It is on the vapporetto line, the stop before Burano. Here vines are grown and wine produced, as well as vegetables.  A piece of rural life, right in Venice. The restaurant usses many of the ingredients produced here and is just excellent. It has, indeed, earned one Michelin star. Not to be missed. Expensive.

Antica Osteria Cera-via Marghera 24 30010 Lughetto P. 0415185009  www.osteriacera.it/cantina.asp   2 Michelin  stars.  Located 11 miles from central Venice, on the mainland.
